ASIST Chapter Meeting, September 20


The NCCU ASIST chapter will meet beginning at 5:30pm, Tuesday, September 20, in Shepard Library SLIS Lounge (Rm. 333). Refreshments will be offered. This is a topic of interest for all SLIS students, and the meeting is open to faculty and students.

Chapter President, Oscar Lacayon, will introduce chapter officers and the speaker, Ms. Judee Lonnee, Senior Vice President, Business Development at Lee Hecht Harrison in Raleigh. Ms. Lonnee's topic will be "Marketing Yourself," including tips on getting interviews and strategies that work. She is a job hunting consultant for Lee Hecht Harrison, which has over 240 offices in 36 countries and is the global performance leader in career management and leadership consulting, maximizing organizational success through services that connect people to work, increase career effectiveness and develop superior leaders. Note: If you are interested in attending the 2005 ASIST Conference coming to Charlotte next month, contact Dr. Deborah Swain, ASIST Faculty Advisor. The conference is October 28-November 2. ASIST student members can volunteer to help in lieu of paying for registration. ASIST student membership is $40/year. You receive journals and bulletins about jobs.
